Enshrouded.net is an independent guide. Contact is [email protected]. Keen Games GmbH makes the game and does not operate this site, and no ad network is affiliated with the game.
What we store
One localStorage key, enshrouded_consent, is written when you press Accept or Reject. The value is JSON with choice (accepted or rejected), at (time of the click), and expires (180 days later). It is used only to remember your privacy choice, including a refusal. After 180 days the expired value is removed on your next visit and the banner can show again.
A second key, enshrouded_ads_closed, is written only after you have accepted, and only if you close the floating Adsterra Social Bar yourself. Its value is the single character 1, and it keeps the strip from coming back on later page views. Reopening Cookie settings and pressing Accept clears it again; pressing Reject removes the strip regardless.
Accept also lets Google Analytics 4 set its own first-party cookies on enshrouded.net (_ga and _ga_54XZ9VZNQ0, Google’s default lifetime of up to two years) so repeat visits can be counted once. Before you choose, and after Reject, analytics_storage stays denied: no analytics cookie is written. The banner is not a cookie.
Accept also starts Microsoft Clarity, which sets its own first-party cookies on enshrouded.net: _clck (its visitor identifier, up to one year) and _clsk (session stitching, one day). Clarity also keeps its own entries in browser local storage. Microsoft publishes no Consent Mode hook for Clarity, so this site gates the tag itself: it is injected on Accept and removed again on Reject.
The two Adsterra units are served from Adsterra’s own domains. Adsterra serves its invoker scripts, its pixel and its ad frames from bicea.org and identifies itself as adsterra.com; the browser tells the ad network your IP address, the page you are on, and device and browser details, and Adsterra writes its own advertising and measurement cookies on those domains. This site has no advertising cookie of its own, and it cannot read or list what Adsterra keeps on its own domains — Adsterra’s privacy policy describes that data.
Third parties
Adsterra is the advertising network on this site. Two formats are connected: a Native Banner inside the page (ad unit 31767238, NativeBanner_1, 4:1 widget layout) and a Social Bar that floats at the bottom of the viewport (ad unit 31767239, SocialBar_1). Both belong to Adsterra website 6127865, category Social, with "Show adult ads" off. Neither is requested until you press Accept — before that the two invoker URLs appear in the page only as text inside the consent-gated loader, and no script element points at bicea.org. Adsterra sets its own cookies on bicea.org and adsterra.com for ad delivery, frequency capping and measurement, and those cookies can follow your browser to other pages that use the same network. The site’s ads.txt declares this one seller line so the inventory is not sold by anyone else. Legal basis for the ad units: your consent.
Microsoft Clarity (project yyp7s1bktq) is loaded from www.clarity.ms and records heatmaps and session replays: clicks, scrolling, pointer movement, the pages you open, and general device and browser details, reported to Microsoft-operated *.clarity.ms endpoints. Its tag is injected only after Accept, so nothing is recorded before you answer or after you press Reject. Clarity masks form-field input by default and this site keeps that masking; Clarity is used for layout and usability research, not advertising. Legal basis: your consent.
Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js, measurement ID G-54XZ9VZNQ0) loads from www.googletagmanager.com with the page and reports to Google-operated google-analytics.com endpoints. It processes your IP address, device and browser details, approximate location, the page you viewed, and the referring page. All four Consent Mode v2 storage types start denied and ads_data_redaction is on, so it writes no cookie and keeps no client identifier until you accept; Accept grants analytics_storage, Reject leaves it denied. Reports are kept under the property’s Google Analytics data-retention setting. Legal basis: your consent.
Google / YouTube is the only optional embedded third party. Pressing Play explicitly requests a privacy-enhanced player from www.youtube-nocookie.com. Rejecting the general banner does not prevent you from separately choosing to load a video. No iframe or Google request is made before that click.
The player may contact Google-operated YouTube, ytimg.com, googlevideo.com, ggpht.com, gstatic.com, and googleapis.com services for its interface, thumbnails, streaming, and security. Privacy-enhanced mode is not a promise of zero data transfer after Play: Google receives your IP address, browser details, and the page origin, and may process playback data under its own privacy policy.
YouTube may display non-personalized advertising within its player and contact Google-operated ad delivery services after Play. That is the embedded video provider’s service, not an advertising seller account operated by this website, and it is the only advertising inside the player.
Cloudflare serves these pages, writes the cache and security headers, and routes mail sent to [email protected]. That is infrastructure and mail handling, not a tracking script placed in the page.
Fonts are files we ship ourselves from the page, not a Google Fonts request. Official store and source links are ordinary links, not embedded trackers: those websites receive a request only when you follow the link.
| Party | When it loads | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adsterra (bicea.org, adsterra.com) | Only after you press Accept | Show the Native Banner (unit 31767238) and the Social Bar (unit 31767239) | Consent |
| Microsoft Clarity (clarity.ms) | Only after you press Accept | Session replay and heatmaps | Consent |
| Google Analytics 4 (googletagmanager.com) | Tag loads on arrival; all storage denied until Accept | Audience measurement | Consent, with storage denied by default |
| YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) | Only after you press Play | Show the trailer you asked for | Consent, through that click |
| Cloudflare (enshrouded.net) | On arrival | Hosting, delivery and email routing | Legitimate interest |
Choices and rights
Cookie settings in the footer reopens the banner on any page. Accept turns analytics_storage on, injects the Clarity tag and starts the two Adsterra units. Reject, or a Global Privacy Control signal, keeps analytics_storage denied and removes the Clarity tag and the ad scripts this page already injected. You can change your mind at any time: pressing Reject after Accept withdraws both again.
Personalized-advertising opt-outs that apply to ad networks generally: https://adssettings.google.com/ , https://optout.aboutads.info/ , and https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/ . Adsterra describes its own practices in its privacy policy, https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/ . Rejecting the banner here, or closing the Social Bar for good, stops the ad units on this site.
You can ask about personal information you have sent us by emailing [email protected]. The consent record stays in your browser; we do not receive a server copy and cannot retrieve it through your email address. Remove the site’s local storage in your browser to delete it, and use your browser’s cookie settings to clear what Clarity, Google or Adsterra stored. We update this page when the provider list changes.
Questions
Do you sell data?
No. We sell nothing. Your banner choice stays in your own browser, and what Google Analytics reports back is aggregate traffic, not a list of people. The ad units are served by Adsterra, which is paid for impressions or clicks; reject the banner and they never load.
Why do the ads need my consent?
Adsterra sets cookies from its own domains and can follow your browser across the pages that use it, so this site treats the ad scripts as optional and will not request them before you accept. There is no ad tag in the HTML you receive on arrival.
What about Do Not Track?
A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as Reject: analytics_storage stays denied, Clarity and the ads are not loaded, and we do not upgrade consent.
