Caps, engine, and quests
Dragonwilds entered early access in April 2025 and released 1.0 on 15 September 2026. Jagex’s dedicated-server guide raised sessions to six players with update 0.11, so the old four-player limit is outdated. Enshrouded uses Keen’s Holistic engine, shipped 1.0 on 15 October 2026, and allows 16 on PC or 8 on PS5. Both have bosses, building, and handcrafted environments. Dragonwilds has RuneScape-inspired skills and quests; Enshrouded has its Shroud timer, Flame Altars, and Embervale progression.
Questions
Do I need a RuneScape account?
Dragonwilds is a separate game. This page does not claim your RuneScape progress carries over. That would be a Jagex question, and it is not answered here.
Which one is finished?
Both have reached 1.0: Dragonwilds on 15 September 2026 and Enshrouded on 15 October 2026. A full release does not mean development has stopped.
