Where the veins are

Lump of Clay is mined from clay deposits in Revelwood. They read as oversized red-brown soil blocks, not as the grey stone you quarry for flint in Springlands.

Revelwood is the second region: forest, the capital at Pikemead’s Reach, hardwood, copper, and these clay beds. If you are still inside the first Flame Altar’s meadow, you have not reached them.

What it is for

Clay feeds brick, pottery, and a run of building pieces. It is a gathered mineral, not a mob drop, so a dedicated mining trip beats waiting on chests.

Bring a pick that the region allows. The wiki does not list a special clay tool beyond ordinary mining.

Is there clay in Springlands?

Not as the main deposit. The documented veins are in Revelwood.

Is clay a Shroud drop?

No. It is a mined block, unlike Shroud Adhesive or spores.
