“Cannot find host” is a co-op error. Single-player works offline. Fix the session only if you are actually trying to join someone.

Checks that are actually documented

Keen’s current Network Troubleshooting and Dedicated Server Configuration articles list the default queryPort as 15637. It is configurable, so use the value in your own enshrouded_server.json and check the linked Steam networking requirements as well. Do not substitute an unrelated 15511 port from an old screenshot.

  • Both clients on the same current build; the latest published hotfix checked on 16 October 2026 is 1.0.0.2, build 1269579.
  • Test without mods; if using them, follow the mod author’s client/server requirements. Matching files does not guarantee compatibility.
  • Check whether host Steam privacy prevents session discovery; the official article also suggests Steam friend invitations.
  • IPv4 available. Wi-Fi is the connection they tell you to replace with a cable if it drops.
  • If the world is on GPortal, the instance has finished the latest game update.
  • The host is online. A listen-server disappears when that person closes the game.

Questions

Do I have to be online to play alone?

No. The FAQ says solo and offline play are supported.

Is this a cross-play bug?

PC and PS5 cannot join each other at launch. That is missing cross-play, not a failed host.
