Install the 16 October hotfix before comparing symptoms

Keen's 1.0.0.2 notes, build 1269579, list crashes involving entity-heavy worlds during travel, water simulation, Adventure Sharing, factories, full backpacks, large enemy counts, Twitch linking and exiting. The save-migration crash fix skips corrupted characters; repairing and migrating those characters is still being worked on. Back up the existing files and use Keen's support form rather than deleting them.

Three places it dies

For a startup crash, compare your system with Steam’s current requirements: 64-bit Windows 10, 16 GB RAM, and a listed supported GPU. Verifying files and checking the graphics driver are general PC diagnostics, not guaranteed fixes. For crashes during play, update to the latest build: hotfix 1.0.0.2 fixes several crashes involving travel, water simulation, Adventure Sharing, factories, full backpacks, large enemy counts, Twitch linking and exiting. Testing without unnecessary peripherals or mods can help isolate a cause. Keen does not promise mod support. No public error-code explanation for “Game creation failed” was established in this review.

Questions

Where is the crash dump?

Keen’s Reporting Bugs article asks for DxDiag, enshrouded.log and the backup log folder from the game installation directory, plus relevant saves. For a dedicated server, include its logs and savegame folders. Follow that article rather than guessing a crash-dump path.

Did 1.0.0.2 fix every crash?

It fixed the items in its own notes. A new crash after that build is a new report.
